There are two major ways to improve a record:
1. Research Content Improvement
You can add further details on any field that the database displays an 'edit’ functionality to. You can add details on artworks, life details, exhibitions or awards. You can add prose to the biography text if you have additional information based on your research.
Please note records marked 'peer- reviewed’ cannot be edited.
2. Data Correction
You can correct details in the database. This database is new. It has just undergone a schema redesign and data migration to a new expanded database structure. This means that some data needs 'washing’. Eg an exhibition title may have been entered incorrectly. Or sometimes we need data in some part of the database linked to other parts of the database. For example, Artists who work together need to be 'linked’ together in the database, so researchers can easily find associations. These seemingly banal jobs are incredibly important in helping the database work better.
If you want to help us correct our data, the best way to do this is to join a 'data correction’ project. If you join a project- you can get clear instructions on what to do, you will join a community of other like-minded people.
All edits/corrections on this site earn members reputation points. Earn enough points and you can become a 'Top corrector’ on our leader board, if your participation is constant and accurate you can earn sufficient points to become a Moderator. Soon we’ll be posting more on more about Design & Art Australia Online’s reputation and promotion system.
