Anita Jane Reay, ceramic artist and sculptor, was born in Hampshire, England, in 1956 and immigrated to Australia as a child. Reay always had a great love of birds and animals and a natural ability to draw them; however, she did not venture into the world of ceramics and pottery until later in life. In 2005 she began creating porcelain figurines and pottery dishes that incorporate birds and animals, mainly of Australian origin, with a particular focus on the kookaburra. Reay has taken up residence on Bribie Island Queensland. Her pieces are in private collections worldwide.
