Gyngell is an interior designer who came to Australia in 1942. After schooling in Sydney, she worked for Mary White in Edgecliff, then taking a position with Marion Hall Best in 1958. She took further training in London and opened her own practice in 1983 where she undertook domestic and commercial interiors. Her commercial work includes Qantas House, George Pattersons, Hyde Park Club and other sites.
