Auguste Blackman
(b. 1957)

Blackman is the son of prominent Australian artist Charles Blackman and his wife Barbara. A painter and printmaker, he works most often in the style of figurative expressionism. Blackman’s work is noted for its bold use of colour, strong sense of narrative and deeply personal themes. His paintings often take the form of portraits, though he has also worked in still life and landscape.

Blackman has been exhibiting since 1982.
