Woodcarver and carpenter who was born in the Austrian Tyrol. He arrived in 1857 on the Dolphin. He married in 1867 and lived in Fremantle until 1879 when his wife died. He moved to Geraldton where he lived with his son Augustine and then moved to son Joseph at York. He is noted for his work in the construction of churches at York, Guildford and Subiaco.
