Casey Jenkins is a young Australian performance artist, living and working in Melbourne. Her work reflects her interests in feminism, gender, reality and community.
Although well known for a solo work Casting Off my Womb, in which she performed in a gallery for 28 days whilst knitting from wool inserted into her vagina, most of her work involves groups of feminist women. For these she devises games which are great fun but which also empower the women to act out in ways that have not been tradition historically for women.
Casey also uses traditional craft such as knitting to bring women together for political purposes.
