Charles Hake

Photographer and surveyor, Charles Hake assited Arthur Hamilton at the Adam Bay settlement, Northern Territory, in 1864-65. Surviving wet-plate photographs include coastline views, the three ships that brought the party to the settlement, the erection of tents, landing of the stores, establishment of the military quarters, other views of the settlement, local Aboriginal people and various landscapes.
