Dawn Mongta of the Monero/Jeringa people lives in Cann River in East Gipplsand, Victoria. She has exhibited her weavings of necklaces, baskets and mats made of natural grasses at the Department of Education, the Mallacoota Arts Festival, the Jigamy Aboriginal Farm in Eden (NSW) and with the Mallacoota Reconciliation Group. In 2006 her work, Dawnie’s Personal Belongings , was Commended in the National Gallery of Victoria Acquisitive Prize category in the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards. Her work his held in the collection of the Nulluak Gundji Aboriginal Centre in Cann River.
