painter and illustrator, daughter of John (Jack) Sommers and sister of John Archibald Douglas Sommers (d.1934), studied at the National Gallery of Victoria Schools in 1900-6. She showed a portrait with the Victorian Artists’ Society in 1906 and drew the cover for Native Companion of 2 December 1907. According to Juliet Peers, she had a fascinating nationalist image and other work in the Women’s National League Journal , an 'arty’ right wing group but feminist with an avant garde craft style, e.g. it had Prenzel furniture in its rooms (now owned by the Liberal Party of Victoria).
