sketcher and medical practitioner, was surgeon on board the convict transport Minerva when it sailed from Ireland to New South Wales in 1798, then onto Bengal. Dr Price’s journal (British Museum, add. mss), kept from May 1798 to June 1800, describes the preparation and embarkation of the Minerva at Cork and lists the crew, the detachment of the New South Wales Corps and the families and convicts on board. It also contains drawings of coastal scenery, local flora and fauna, Aborigines and buildings in Sydney.
