Elizabeth Ryan was born on Palm Island, Queensland in 1949. She moved to Ceduna in South Australia in 1972 with her partner, Mitch.
Ryan is a painter who works in the medium of impasto and acrylic on canvas. She paints two days a week at the Ceduna Aboriginal Arts and Cultural Centre and through this organisation has been able to participate in the Adelaide Festival Centre’s annual 'Our Mob’ exhibitions in 2007 and 2008. She has also exhibited her work at Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute in Adelaide and the Red Poles Gallery in Mclaren Vale.
Ryan continues to live at the Koongawa Dundee Homeland which is positioned 10 kilometres outside of Ceduna.
