sketcher, with Mary Ellen Davies , were daughters of Archdeacon Robert Rowland Davies and Maria, n ée Lyttleton , of Longford and Hobart Town, Tasmania. Presumably taught by their mother, both girls painted watercolours of flowers in the 1860s. The Van Diemen’s Land Folk Museum has an 1866 orchid study by Emma, initialled 'E.L.D.’, and two undated orchids by Mary Ellen.
