Essington Lewis

Lewis, a famous industrialist associated with BHP, was responsible for initiating the discussions that led to the creation of the Australian Industrial Design Council. His company BHP was one of the early financial supporters of the Council along with the Commonwealth Bank. Lewis's contribution was celebrated by the Essington Lewis Memorial Award for outstanding service to industrial design in Australia.
