sketcher, filled three albums with watercolours and sketches of her travels around the world in 1899-1900. One volume includes views in Sri Lanka, Australia, Tasmania (two scenes depicting the departure of Montgomery and 'the Bushmen’ troops to the Transvaal in March 1900), Hawaii, the USA and Canada. Another volume is of Middle Eastern, Australian, American and Canadian subjects, while the third is confined to a train journey across Canada in 1900. All three albums were offered at Phillips London auction on 3 October 1989, lot 74. One of her two sketches illustrated in the catalogue showed 'Custom House/ Brisbane/ 16.9.00’, a quite detailed view of the Brisbane River and its buildings, though the style of painting looks rather loose/ coarse. (The other was 'New York [harbour] en route S.S. Friedrich der Grosse. Oct 4th 1900’.)
