printmaker, was born in Waratah, Newcastle, NSW, in 1901, niece of the well-known Judge, Sir George Stephenson Beeby. After her mother died and her father disappeared, she was brought up in Sydney by her aunts. She studied at Julian Ashton 's Sydney Art School and exhibited there. During the 1920s she contributed three linocuts to Undergrowth , the Sydney Art Students’ journal edited by Nancy Hall and Dore Hawthorne . Florence taught at the East Sydney Technical College and was a great friend of Ruth Ainsworth , the art mistress at Frensham Girls’ School, Mittagong. Taylor married Keith Dash in 1929 and did little work after this. She died of tuberculosis in Bathurst in 1948.
