sketcher and lithographer, was born in Hobart Town, son of Francis Hartwell Henslowe, a civil servant and composer, and Anne, née Rocke. In about 1860 Francis drew and printed the lithograph Battery Point, Hobart showing St. George’s Church of England and the Windmill (Mitchell Library, State Library of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW). Henslowe was also the lithographer of a vignette of St George’s Hill on the front wrapper of The Tasmanian Lyre , sheet music published by Huxtable & Deakin (Craig states that this was almost certainly after a sketch by Mary Morton Allport ). Henslowe lithographed and printed in colours the covers of the sheet music The Louis Napoleon Polka and L’Esperance Duet (for two tenors), composed by his father and exhibited in the Tasmanian court at the 1855 Paris Universal Exhibition.
