draughtsman and architect, was presumably the 'F. Honey’ who signed a lithograph (Mitchell Library, State Library of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW) of the Chamber of Commerce building in Geelong, Victoria. Erected in 1858 to the design of the architect Christopher Potter, Honey’s undated drawing was lithographed by De Gruchy & Leigh and apparently published soon afterwards by Heath & Cordell of Malop Street, Geelong. An elegant architectural perspective view of the building, the print includes numerous small figures in the foreground. In 1864 “Mr Honey of Sydney” won first premium for his design for the Auckland Supreme Court, but his plans were immediately altered by the New Zealand Government Architect and Honey had no hope of erecting it even had he lived.
