art teacher and lithographer, was born and raised in London, where he studied at the Central School of Arts and Craft while working as a guide for American tourists visiting art galleries. He moved to Adelaide to work as a teacher at the South Australian School of Art, becoming Director in 1946 56. An exhibiting member of the Australian Painter Etchers and a member of the American Bookplate Society and the Designers and Collectors’ Society, Washington D.C., his lithographs include An Old Romance c.1935 (edn 30) and The Balloon Seller n.d. (edn 30). In the 1930s he did colour lithographic posters for the SA Govt Publicity and Tourist Bureau, Set Your Course for Pt. Lincoln and a Perfect Holiday and South Australia.
