Professional photographer, chemist and actor. Arrived in Australia as a gold-digger before settling in New Zealand where he opened the Wellington Ambrotype Portrait Gallery and was romantically linked to Mrs WH Foley whose theatrical productions he acted in and whose members he photographed.
