cartoonist, signed Smith’s Weekly cartoon, “Gosh, Gus, I’d die if I got my name in the paper!” 1940, showing two men walking down the street approaching various disasters like an open manhole, falling bales, etc.

Is this the popular Sydney comedian of the time (said to have been a talented amateur caricaturist); or a pseudonym taken from him?
