Gina Green, Tasmanian Aboriginal artist, was born on Flinders Island off the North Coast of Tasmania and continues to reside there with her family. Since 2003 Green has been creating jewellery from natural materials collected from the coastline and bush, and has also begun to produce abstract acrylic paintings. She has also been involved in a number of cultural festivals as both a performer and organiser, including the “Leaving the Birds Festival” (2004) and the “Moon Bird Festival” (2005). In 2006-2007 Green participated in “Strait Across”, an exhibition of artists from King Island and Flinders Island. “Strait Across” was displayed at the Strait Art Works Gallery on Flinders Island, and the Cultural Centre on King Island.
