professional photographer, was taking photographs at Goulburn, NSW, in 1858. He or she visited Yass during the same year and took some of the town’s earliest photographs. This is presumably the same Clarke who was later in partnership with Reed (possibly Elizabeth Reed ) as travelling photographers in southern NSW. They visited the Lambing Flat (Young) goldfields in 1861.
