Holman was a polymath artist working in film, murals, portraiture and other art forms. His career began after the conclusion of the 1939-45 War, he later moved to India as an advertising art director. In the 1960s, he moved to Papua New Guinea producing sculpture, much of it in bronze. He continued his association with Australia producing commissions until ca.2009.
