Cartoonist, was listed among the illustrators in Punch Staff Papers: A Collection of Tales, Sketches, &c., in Prose and Verse, by the Members of the Staff of Sydney Punch , Sydney, Gordon & Gotch, 1872. His illustrations are crude and cartoon-like (the only ones in the book); the best is a full-page illustration to the article 'Kai Tamaru and the Devil’ (facing p.41). He is undoubtedly the 'H.W.’ whose poor simple line cartoons, mostly about fashion, indicate an inexperienced artist.
