illustrator, worked as an artist for Fairfax Press, i.e. in the Sydney Morning Herald and the Sun-Herald in the 1950s. Original drawings at the AGWA acquired from the Sun-Herald proprietors include Captain Hornblower (n.d) and Two men smoking Hookas, or Men smoking Opium pipes 1951 (957/D320).

Then Larkin went overseas. He was working in London in 1964 when he won an award for book-jacket design.
