Jacqui Williams is a Bundjalung artist from the North Coast of NSW whose lino prints depict the native animals and plants of her country. Among her subjects are the activities of the 'Jen Bung’ or platypus in the Richmond River, and the family tradition of collecting the scattered pippies from the beaches in Bundjalung country. Williams’ prints consist of boldly rendered animal and plant forms embedded within fields of rhythmic patterns, creating a strong sense of movement within the frame. She has also achieved different textural effects within her works by employing materials such as sand and gesso.
