engraver (thought to be reproductive), ran the Melbourne firm of James Redaway & Sons that in 1855-59 was responsible for translating William Blandowski 's drawings into a portfolio of 29 prints in etching, engraving and aquatint printed in black from a single copper plate, which were intended as some of the 200 illustrations for Blandowski’s unrealised 'Australia Terra Cognita’. Aware of his own limitations as an artist, Blandowski gave Redaway great freedom. As a result, the prints are unusually signed 'Effect & Engraving by…’.
