Steeth was a a metalsmith commissioned in 1919 to fabricate the Melbourne Cup. His descendants continued the tradition with Maurice Steeth and later Michael Steeth continuing the association until ca. 1971. The Melbourne Cup was made for William Drummond & Co., Melbourne.
