Born c.1954, Janet Forrester is a Luritja speaker, who began painting in the late ’80s with the Jukurrpa group, based at IAD, Alice Springs. Her work was included in a major exhibition of the Jukurrpa artists at Araluen Arts Centre in 1989, and in several subsequent Jukurrpa shows, though in the past few years, she had mainly sold her work through galleries in Alice Springs. She has connections to the community at Ernabella, but mostly lives in Alice Springs.
