cartoonist, began his career as a copy boy on Sydney’s Daily Mirror in 1942. In 1943 he was a cadet artist. After becoming a graded press artist, he went to Japan and worked on the Occupation Forces newspaper Beacon , providing many small humorous line drawings. Back home in 1951 he worked as an illustrator and layout artist on the Argus and Australasian Post , which invited him to supply cartoons as well. In Brisbane he was on the staff of the Courier Mail , then Sunday Truth , principally working in layout. In 1973 he was a journalist on the Sunday Sun handling editorial layout, writing film reviews and providing weekly current affairs cartoons 'as a diversion’.
