He did illustrations for Fairfax newspapers for nine years, e.g. cartoons in Bridges & Heimann p.33 (map of Australia wearing hat made of American flag with corks hanging from it in the form of bombs, published SMH 23 November 1985, and Australia as a gun, published SMH 22 May 1985), p.36 (Australia as cake on plate signed 'J’, published SMH 10 November 1987), p.55 (as broken car, published SMH 12 December 1987), p.91 ( SMH 6 July 1987). In 1996 he joined News Limited. In 2001 he had two originals in the National Museum of Australia’s Bringing the House Down exhibition from the Australian and the Daily Telegraph .
