Born at Yuendumu and belonging to the Warlpiri language/tribe, he lives at Lajamanu and his country is Yurntumu and Yinjirrimarda. His Dreamings are Yuparli (Bush Banana), Pikilyi (Old Man), Yurrampi and Mala. He sometimes works with this wife Janie Peters . The couple are among the most highly regarded painters in the Lajamanu community. He started painting in 1986, being the first man in Lajamanu to do so. From living previously in Yuendumu, he knew how to stretch canvases, and was a leading figure in the early days of the painting enterprise at Lajamanu.
