Mornington Island painter Joelene Roughsey exhibited her work in 2005 in the 'Jidmaa Thuwathu - Rainbow Serpent Rising' exhibition at the Woolloongabba Art Gallery, Brisbane, Queensland. She is the granddaughter of Mornington Island elder Timmy Roughsey and the great niece of artist Dick Roughsey.

Joelene Roughsey is a painter who’s grandfather was Mornington Island elder, Timmy Roughsey and her great uncle was artist Dick Roughsey. She has exhibited her work in 2005 in the 'Jidmaa Thuwathu – Rainbow Serpent Rising’ exhibition at the Woolloongabba Art Gallery and in 'Gatherings II’ in 2006 in Brisbane.
