Claringhold is a Melbourne fashion designer. He began working as a window dresser with Mutual Stores, Melbourne, later working for Hicks Atkinson in sales. In 1954 he began showing his fashion designs and by 1958 opened a studio supplying retailers as well as formal wear and couture.
