engraver and printer, was working in York Street, Sydney, in 1850 when the Freeman’s Journal noted: 'We have seen a lithographic print of the beautiful little Church of St Augustine, Balmain, which does great credit to the artist, and to the engraver, Mr Fitzsimmons of York Street’. The following May, Fitzsimmons advertised that he had moved 'to more extensive premises’ on the opposite side of the street. John Fitzsimmons was listed as an engraver of Castlereagh Street in Sands Sydney Directory for 1867. He appears to have been primarily a trade printer and no original art is known.
