Karen Reys, born 1965, is a Badjala artist and member of the Darrba language group from Queensland. She has a Diploma of Aboriginal Visual Arts from Midland College of TAFE (2000) and a Bachelor of Arts from the Curtin University of Technology (2003). Reys’ works explore the complexities of contemporary Indigenous identity and belonging. She has been exhibiting her work since 2000, when she staged an exhibition titled 'Badjala, Kulcha’ at the Multicultural Association in Fremantle, Western Australia. In 2004 she held a solo exhibition at Gomboc Gallery in Middle Swan, titled 'Where is my place of belonging’, and participated in 'On Track’ at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, The University of Western Australia in Perth. In 2005 she won the Moorjditch Mar-Daa Art Award, and she participated in the award in 2006 and 2007.
