Kenneth Macqueen b. 1897

  • Artist
A trustee of the Queensland Art Gallery, Macqueen studied art in London after serving with the Australian Imperial Forces during World War One. On returning to Australia he took up farming where he developed his relationship to nature. Macqueen is recognised as one of the first Australian watercolourists to adopt a formalist approach in which shape and colour play a dominant role.
