Kim Lampton is a Yorta Yorta woman who employs sand as a painting medium. Her family is from Cummeragunja Mission on the Murray River in New South Wales. Her maternal grandparents are the respected Sir Pastor Doug and Lady Gladys Nicholls. In the publication Tribal Expressions: The Business of Art and Culture in Indigenous Victoria (Ed. Jane Harrison), Lampton says of her art practice that she “Depicts patterns from the bora (ceremonial) grounds”.
