Lexie Edwards is a Yorta Yorta (Victoria) woman who has been painting since 2000 when she enrolled in the Koori Art and Design Certificate course at Sunraysia Institute of TAFE. Edwards also works as a sculptor and ceramicist. As stated in Tribal Expressions: The Business of Art and Culture in Indigenous Victoria (Ed, Jane Harrison, p71), Edwards is inspired “by my mum. We did a lot of fishing together … it helps me to know I’m keeping her memories alive.”
