Born c.1937 McDonald Downs Station, Lily Kngwarreye is an Alyawarre speaker. Her country is Entibera, and she is the senior woman for this site, referred to by all Petyarre skin-group nieces on Entibera women’s business. She is the eldest daughter of a very senior and important Alyawarre elder, Jacob Jones. Her main Dreaming is Two Sisters. She also paints various bush food stories including Honey Grevillea, and like most of the Utopia artists, began painting in summer 1988-9 for CAAMA, after years of previous experience making batik. She is currently part of the Arawerre community in the north of Utopia Aboriginal Land. Emily Kngwarreye is her adopted sister. She exhibited at the Gallery Gabrielle Pizzi in Melbourne in 1989 and Hogarth and Coo-ee Galleries in 1991.
