Lou Triffit is an Indigenous artist based in Oatlands, Tasmania. Triffit practices pyrography, which involves burning designs into wood. As she says of her practice: 'I grew up in the country, and have always appreciated the beauty and potential of wood as an art medium, as well as its many practical uses. I enjoy the art of pyrography, which provides the opportunity to design, sketch and burn both simple and complex designs, sometimes highlighting intricate detail with colour.’
