Wemba Wemba screenprinter, Louise Sinnappan, was born in Balranald, New South Wales, and now lives in country Victoria. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Latrobe University, Bendigo, in the 1990s and works mainly in screenprinting (bags, scarves and linen) and in ceramics. According to the publication Tribal Expressions: The Business of Art and Culture in Indigenous Victoria, Sinnappan’s designs are “Based on her everyday life growing up on the river …. the images of the natural world, and listening to the Dreamtime stories told around the campfire by her grandmother and elders”.
