Lucy Coolwell is a Brisbane-based artist working with found objects. Coolwell exhibited in the 2001 “Gatherings, Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art from Queensland, Australia” exhibition and her artist statement in the catalogue elaborates on her practice. She says that her inspiration comes from “recycling materials that I find in my travels. I see in my mind that everything is touched by a rainbow of colour. That is why I use bright colours in my paintings.”
