Evatt began her interior design career in 1966 at Studio 12 Interiors, Manuka ACT until 1969 when she moved to Europe until end 1972. She worked in London with designer Alan Bate, then moved to Rome. She was Head Designer at Artes Studio, Sydney, later practising as Lyndal Evatt Interiors, Cremorne NSW. She studied at Canberra Technical College under Scorgie Anderson and Hammersmith College of Art and Building in London.
