Lynette Kelly, Noongar artist, was born in Tambellup in the southwest region of Western Australia. She is the eldest daughter of Lorraine Kelly (nee Williams) and Simpson Kelly (one of the Carrolup children artists), and the granddaughter of renowned Noongar painter Bella Kelly . She and her sisters, Priscilla Kelly and Grace Kelly, paint in association with the Mungart Boodja Art Centre in Katanning. Kelly began painting during a period of study at Midland TAFE (WA) and Sunraysia TAFE in Mildura (VIC). In 2009 she participated in the 'Noongar Koort Boodja – Noongar Heart Land’ exhibition at Gadfly Gallery in Perth. The exhibition was part of the City’s NAIDOC week celebrations.
