Born c.1935 lived at Yuendumu and was a Warlpiri speaker. Then in her early fifties, Maggie Poulson was one of the senior women whose interest in rendering traditional women’s designs in western materials inspired the first experiments with acrylic on canvas at Yuendumu. She had been exhibiting her work with Warlukurlangu Artists since the Yuendumu painters’ first exhibition in Alice Springs in 1985. She had also been represented in shows of Aboriginal women’s art in Adelaide and Darwin. In 1987 Artforms produced a poster of a painting by Maggie Poulson and her sister Peggy Napurrurla Poulson . With her sister and Bessie Nakamarra Sims , Maggie also featured in the Dreamings: Art of Aboriginal Australia video, painting an elaborately detailed Janganpa (Possum) Dreaming. She also painted Ngarlajiyi (Small Yam) Dreaming.
