Player was married to a professional hotelier, Jim Player and she began her design career when they immigrated to Australia. She was involved in the interior design of the Hotel Rex, Macleay Street, Potts Point (1953) and later the Gazebo Motor Hotel, Kings Cross (1969) working with locations managed by Jim Player.
