painter, art teacher and needleworker, was born on 7 October 1856 at Steiglitz, Victoria. In 1890-91 she attended classes at the National Gallery School, Melbourne. For most of her life she lived in Royal Parade, Parkville, and attempted to make a living by giving lessons in painting. Although a gifted needleworker, she regarded this as a hobby. Painting was her profession, and she is reputed to have held an exhibition of her paintings in the Melbourne Town Hall in the late 1920s or early 1930s. In later life she devoted herself to watercolours of wildflowers in the style of Ellis Rowan . She died at Parkville on 2 August 1934.
