Art Society of NSW Exhibition 1894: '... and Mrs A.R. Butterworth contributes a number of smoothly finished miniature portraits’ ( Sydney Morning Herald 29 September 1894, 7).

At the Women’s College Exhibition in May 1895, one of the exhibits was a reading desk in Australian cedar, carved by Miss L. MacDonald (Principal of the Women’s College) and Miss E.E. Dickinson, from a design by Mrs Butterworth. Mrs Butterworth also carved her own ribbon scroll design on a stool ( Sydney Morning Herald 28 May 1895, 6).

Her husband, Mr A.R. Butterworth, gave a lecture on 'The Furniture of all Ages’ at the Women’s College which was 'illustrated by sketches drawn by Mrs Butterworth’ ( Sydney Morning Herald 31 May 1895, 6).
