Kamilaroi/Yimin painter, Marshall Bell has worked in the visual arts arena since the 1980s. In 1988 he operated an arts and crafts retail outlet in Brisbane and in 1990 he was included in 'Balance’ at Queensland Art Gallery. After this exhibition he along with Michael Eather set up the Campfire Consultancy which helped profile many Queensland Indigenous visual artists. Bell was a contributing artist in the 2006 'Gatherings II’ exhibition and stated in the accompanying catalogue that his current body of work “concentrates on the search for a recognisable eastern Australian Indigenous imagery.” In September, 2006, Bell had a solo exhibition, 'iborginal’ at the Woolloongabba Art Gallery in Brisbane
